Telecom companies these days don’t need any special day to revise old plans or announce new ones. However, Reliance Jio is commemorating Republic Day by offering 1GB data per month for just Rs 49 per month to its JioPhone users. It also restarted taking bookings for JioPhone.
The latest move from Reliance Jio comes hot on heels of Airtel revising its Rs 149 plan. Earlier, Airtel prepaid subscribers used to get unlimited local and STD calling, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data in all for the period of 28 days. The telco has now increased the data limit in the plan. Now the Airtel users will get 1GB data per day with the same benefits under Rs 149 plan. This is a massive 2700% increase in data limit for Airtel subscribers.
A couple of days back Reliance Jio also announced new tariff plans under Reliance Jio’s Republic Day offer will come into effect starting January 26, 2018.
All existing plans that offer 1GB data per day have been bumped up to offer 1.5GB data per day and the plans that were offering 1.5GB per day will now have per day limit of 2GB. This means that plans at Rs 149, Rs 349, Rs 399 and Rs 449 will all have 1.5GB data per day limit with a validity of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days and 91 days respectively. Whereas, the plans at Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448 and Rs 498 will have 2GB data per day with a validity of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days and 91 days respectively. All the aforementioned plans include unlimited calling benefits for both local and national calls.
